FAQ

Questions and answers

Direct answers to what people ask most: whether this is safe, how much you can earn and how to use the service.

Trust and safety

Who actually runs the studies and pays the money?

We are a directory, not a research provider. We do not run studies and we do not make payouts.

Applying, taking part and getting paid all happen on the original platform, under its rules and on its timeline.

Is this a scam?

We take no money from you for taking part in studies, and we never ask for passwords or copies of documents. Access to the catalogue is free as well, and we never ask for card details.

You apply on the platform’s own site, the one you could reach without us. That platform pays you, under its own rules. Our job is to gather opportunities in one place and explain the conditions in plain language.

Who pays, and when?

The platform or the research company running the study pays you. We do not transfer money and we are not an intermediary in the payment.

Timing varies from a few days to a few weeks after completion. Always check the exact terms on the platform’s own page for that study: the platform is responsible for them.

What do you do with my data?

The questionnaire exists only to filter out studies you clearly do not qualify for. It is stored in your account and is not passed to the platforms. We keep your email and city encrypted.

We do not sell data, we do not show third-party advertising and we do not send mailings without your consent.

How do you vet the opportunities?

We check that the link is alive and points at the platform rather than a third-party form, that the platform is known to us, and that the conditions come from the original source.

Closed studies are removed from the catalog. Where a condition is unknown to us, we write “unknown” instead of inventing it.

Money

How much can you realistically earn?

This is side income, not a salary. By Respondent’s guidance, a short online task of 5–25 minutes pays about $5–25, a remote interview of 30–90 minutes $40–150, and an in-person interview or focus group $75–250 or more.

How many studies fit you depends on your country, languages, profession and devices. Promising a monthly figure would be a lie: we control neither the number of studies nor the selection.

Is it free?

The guides, platform reviews, country pages and today’s highest-paying studies on the home page are open to everyone without an account. The full feed matched to your profile and the details of each study open after a free sign-up.

Yes. Once you sign up for free, the whole feed of studies matched to your profile is open to you, plus partner studies. There is no charge.

Do I have to pay anything to earn money online with studies?

No, and this is the main honesty check. Genuine research platforms never charge participants: they pay you for the survey, test or interview. If a so-called employer asks you to pay for training, a task pack or account activation, it is a scam.

LazyBounty is free too: once you sign up, the whole study feed is open to you.

How do I get paid for surveys and studies?

Most platforms pay to PayPal; uTest and Clickworker also pay to Payoneer. From PayPal you withdraw to your bank card.

Payout timing and minimums are set by each platform. Our article on getting paid in Ukraine compares the methods platform by platform.

Why do some opportunities have no payout listed?

Because the platform did not publish it in a structured form. We show “payout unknown” instead of substituting an approximate figure.

It is inconvenient but honest: seeing “up to $200” and receiving twenty is worse than seeing nothing.

Using the service

Is this an online job or a work-from-home job?

No, it is not a vacancy or a permanent work-from-home job, and it is not one of the remote jobs you see on job boards. Paid research studies are one-off online tasks: surveys, website and app tests, interviews. Each one is paid separately by the platform that runs it.

So it is a side income, not a salary: how many studies you get depends on your profile and on selection. In our catalogue on 10 September 2026 the median payout is $40 per study.

Paid research studies from home are done online from a computer or a phone, so they fit around a main job or classes. Each study states its own device requirements.

Can I take part in studies from my phone?

Some of them, yes. For example, UserTesting has an app for iOS and Android, and its practice test can be taken on a desktop or a mobile device.

Which devices you need (camera, microphone, computer or phone) is always stated by the platform in the description of each study. Check it before you apply.

Why fill in the questionnaire?

So you do not read what does not apply to you. Most studies restrict country, age, language or device, and without the questionnaire you only see that by reading every card closely.

Without it you see the whole catalogue. With it, one switch leaves only the studies you qualify for and explains in words what fits and what does not.

Why was my application rejected?

The most common reason is geography: the researcher is looking for people in a specific country. Then come screener mismatches and, plainly, a full quota.

Rejection is normal here, even for experienced participants. The guide on rejected applications covers this in detail.

Why not go to the platforms directly?

You can, and we even explain how: each platform page describes how registration and payouts work there.

The difference is time. There are dozens of platforms, most opportunities will not fit you, and you only learn that after signing up and filling in a screener on each one.

How many opportunities do you have right now?

The exact number is shown in the catalogue after you sign up. It is counted from the database rather than typed in by hand.

We deliberately do not inflate the catalog: fewer opportunities with verified conditions beat more with invented ones.

Did not find your question?

The guides go deeper: how screeners work, why applications get rejected and how payouts arrive. If your question is about the service itself, write to us.
