Website testing jobs: get paid to test websites
Website testing pays for your actions and explanations, not for randomly hunting bugs. LazyBounty is a free paid-research aggregator that collects these opportunities in one feed and shows the available terms before you apply. Most user testing jobs need a device, reliable connection and willingness to think aloud.

What a website test actually involves
In a usability test, a research team gives you a scenario: find a product, start a subscription, understand a service or complete another ordinary task. You move through a site or app, often record your screen, and explain what you are thinking. Details such as what confused you, where you looked for a button and why a page did not feel trustworthy are more useful than a general opinion.
This is not a permanent software-testing job or a promise of steady income. Some studies are recorded, self-guided sessions; others are live calls with a moderator. You may see a prototype, so an unfinished screen or unusual interaction can be part of the task rather than a fault with your device.
- using a website, mobile app or prototype
- a short screen recording or moderated conversation
- explaining decisions in ordinary language
Who gets selected and what the screener checks
A client needs a specific experience, not simply someone who can browse the web. They may need small-business owners, customers of a particular bank, buyers in a category, Android users or people who have never used the product. The screener asks about country, language, device and habits so that unsuitable profiles do not reach the session.
Keep your profile and short screeners accurate and consistent. Guessing the desired answer may win access once, but inconsistencies can surface in the session and damage your account. Before a first test, check your microphone, battery, screen-recording permission and a quiet place. Do not apply to tasks that require spoken English if you cannot comfortably give your comments in English.
Pay, time and a realistic expectation
Payment varies by format, country, requested profile, duration and whether the session is live. In LazyBounty data dated 26 October 2026, Respondent studies have a $30 median payout and 30-minute median duration, while 17% pay $100 or more. Those are figures for the Respondent sample as a whole, not a guaranteed rate for every website test.
Our database includes 424 uTest testing projects, but the card almost never states the amount. Do not calculate future earnings from a job title. Before applying, check whether pay is named, how much time to reserve and whether there is a follow-up call. You may not pass a screener, and time spent on it is usually unpaid.
How to search without opening dozens of tabs
A LazyBounty card shows what the source stated about format, payment, length and requirements. Filter the feed for usability testing, complete your profile, and open only relevant opportunities. After registering with LazyBounty, you apply on the platform that runs the study; we do not run the test or send the payment.
As of 26 October 2026, the feed adds about 80 new studies a day, or 450 to 635 a week. A study stays in the feed for about six days, and our users move to an application 16.5 hours after publication on average. That is a reason not to leave a suitable test for later, not a reason to apply without reading the terms.
How to avoid a fake testing offer
A genuine opportunity may use a screener, but it does not ask for an access fee, deposit, password, CVV or SMS code. Payment and duration should be clear before participation, and the link after you continue should lead to the platform’s site. A large payment for a few minutes with no selection is a reason to stop.
Keep invitation emails and do not share a screen recording with anyone outside the named platform. If the payment timing is unclear, do not continue just because the amount looks attractive. For a payment dispute, contact the platform where you applied.
Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need QA experience for website testing?
No. Participants describe an ordinary user experience; they are not expected to write technical bug reports.
Why did I fail the screener?
A screener is looking for a narrow profile for one study. A rejection does not mean there is a problem with your account.
Is the payment always shown before I apply?
No. Many uTest project cards do not state an amount. Check the platform’s terms before continuing.
Where do I apply?
LazyBounty shows the opportunity. You apply after registering on the platform that runs the test.
