What Ipsos iSay is and how participation works

Ipsos iSay describes itself as a rewarded online research community. Registration is free. After creating an account, a person answers questions about themselves and their household, then the system uses that information to match invitations. Surveys may arrive by email, appear in the dashboard or be available through the app. An invitation does not always mean final selection: opening a study can begin with screening questions.

Before a survey starts, Ipsos iSay shows the points for that specific survey; the number can depend on factors including length. Ipsos says completed-survey points usually appear within minutes, although some studies take several days or award points after a final stage. That is the key difference from employment: you do not sell a block of hours in advance, and you can participate only when a suitable study is available.

How much Ipsos iSay pays participants

Ipsos iSay does not publish one hourly rate and does not promise a survey frequency. It is therefore not honest to calculate an expected hourly income in advance. The platform shows a point reward before each particular survey. Judge an opportunity by that displayed number, the stated time and the actual availability of invitations, not by promotional examples from another country.

As a concrete reference, the public US catalogue on 26 September 2026 lists $5 PayPal Funds for 525 points, $15 for 1,527, $25 for 2,545 and $50 for 5,090. The same catalogue includes gift cards, virtual prepaid cards, Venmo and donations. This is not a universal conversion: Ipsos explicitly says that rewards and availability vary by country.

Minimum redemption and reward methods

In the United States, the lowest cash option visible in the public catalogue is $5 PayPal Funds for 525 points. But saying “the Ipsos iSay minimum payout” without naming a country is misleading. One country may offer PayPal, while another offers only digital gift cards, prepaid cards or donations. Check the catalogue in your own account after choosing your country.

A reward is ordered through the catalogue: open the balance, select an available item and confirm the order. For US PayPal rewards, Ipsos iSay says the PayPal email should match the account email, or be added to PayPal. Do not create an account in a country where your intended reward method is unavailable. Having points does not make an unavailable local payment method usable.

Supported countries and Ukraine

The official Ipsos iSay country selector lists markets in North and Latin America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Oceania. European versions include, for example, Poland, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Romania and Türkiye. Lists can change, so the country selector is more reliable than an old review when you need to check a particular place.

Ukraine is not listed in the official country selector. As of 26 September 2026, we therefore cannot recommend Ipsos iSay as an available panel for a person resident in Ukraine. Signing up with a VPN, someone else’s phone number or an address in another country defeats the purpose of panel sampling and can lead to an account closure or an unusable reward balance.

Profile, screening and privacy

A complete profile does not create a right to surveys, but it gives the system data for matching. Ipsos advises members to complete it carefully, keep it current and answer honestly and consistently. If a study needs parents, users of a particular product or people in a certain occupation, not matching that audience is normal. It is not a penalty and does not prove that the panel does not reward participants.

Ipsos explains in its privacy policy that it processes profile information and some device information to conduct surveys and research. Sensitive questions include a prefer-not-to-answer option, and separate consent for some profile functions can be withdrawn. Share only what you are comfortable providing to a research panel. Never send documents or payment details in an email from an unknown person claiming to represent a survey.

Pros, limits and affiliate disclosure

Ipsos iSay has practical strengths: the survey reward is shown in advance, membership is free, local reward catalogues exist and participation can be mobile. Its limits matter more than a glossy earnings claim: there is no guaranteed volume, no published universal hourly rate, rewards vary by country and Ukraine is not supported. For an eligible member it can suit short gaps in a day, not replace paid work.

Not only surveys: other Ipsos iSay formats

Besides regular online surveys, Ipsos iSay describes four more formats on its US homepage. Live studies are scheduled sessions where members complete interactive surveys in real time. Product testing lets you try new or redesigned products before they reach the market and then answer follow-up questions. Special communities are topic-based groups with ongoing surveys and discussion boards. Activity journals are short surveys on various topics for people who do not want to spend much time.

Profile surveys earn points too: Ipsos iSay says you receive 20 points the first time you complete each profile survey, with no extra points for later updates. Sometimes the system moves you from one survey to another while looking for a better match; in that case the total shown at the end is the sum of points for every survey you entered, added to your balance under separate survey numbers.

Is it worth your time: a simple calculation

In its own guide to PayPal rewards for the US, Ipsos iSay states that $5 costs 525 points and $15 costs 1,527 points. So one dollar in the US catalogue is roughly 105 points. That gives you a simple way to judge any invitation: divide the points shown before the start by 105 to get dollars, then divide by the stated time.

A worked example, not a typical rate: if a 15-minute survey shows 100 points, that is about $0.95, or roughly $3.80 an hour. For comparison, Prolific enforces a minimum of $8 an hour for its studies, and the median stated rate in our catalogue of Respondent studies is about $87 per session hour (692 studies on 10 Sep 2026, excluding time spent searching and screening). So a panel like Ipsos iSay suits short breaks, but if your hourly earnings matter, look at paid research studies as well. The two work well together: surveys fill small gaps in the day, while research sessions bring the larger payments.
